The Grier-Rea House was built in 1804 and is unquestionably one of the older plantation houses surviving in Mecklenburg County, and a rare survivor from the rural built environment and landscape which once dominated this portion of Mecklenburg County. The house is currently being offered for sale by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission. Please contact the Landmarks Commission at 704-376-9115.
